Meeting at Hanover Academy

Sundays at 9:00a.m.

We explore different spiritual and Biblical themes each week.  Come, explore with us, or check us out in our Facebook/website videos previews and summaries each week.  And, please, as part of your Christian witness, pass on to others as The Holy Spirit inspires you to share what blesses you.

Note, “Aim Church” was part of the “Explore God Richmond” movement in the fall of 2016. Our small congregation was so inspired that we decided to follow a similar format in an on-going fashion. It appears to us that a small group worship format is reflected in the Biblical witness of Acts 2:42-47 and 1st Corinthians 14:26-40, as well as other New Testament texts. It seems that the place of spiritual growth is in smaller discipleship groups and the New Testament describes the early church primarily in small group, house settings.

Today’s churches, in large group worship settings are largely experiences of celebration. Worshipers need small group experiences to grow in discipleship personally and share in the growth of other Christians. This is “Aim’s strong suit.” Our emphasis is more on discipleship than celebration, simply because of our emphasis on small groups.

As we grow in our small groups, we may one day have a better balance in celebration as most churches do. But, we have to “walk before we run!”

Come and try us for just one Sunday!   We are sure you will be glad you did! Please plan to attend "AIM" Church or one of the other churches in the Ashland area to "Explore God" every week.

xplore God: Explore God creates credible content for people with spiritual questions and curiosities. Who's got those? Seems like just about everybody—including us.

Exploration is at the core of the human condition. We're made to be curious, and we're made to connect in some way with the creator of all this. The question is: who is the creator, and how can we connect?

Actually, that's just two of a whole lot of questions that we are trying to figure out. So we created this site and asked a bunch of really smart people to help us put together some legit answers.

What you'll find here is an ever-expanding collection of original and curated content from many of the best minds in the world that spend their lives exploring these topics. We've organized all of it specifically to make your search easy, enjoyable, and ultimately satisfying.

Who is "Explore God?":  We've got a small staff in Austin, Texas, but the larger team is made up of writers, artists, storytellers, filmmakers, theologians, entrepreneurs, contractors, pastors, partners, and volunteers from around the world. Explore God would not be possible without the tireless work of many, many dedicated people.

We are Christians, not know-it-alls. We're a diverse group from different denominations who don't see eye-to-eye on everything, and we love asking tough questions and seeking out credible information together. This website is an earnest and humble expression of our collective quest to know God more deeply and experience God more fully. View our Statement of Faith for detailed information on what we believe.

Our Mission: We want to take on tough questions that deserve deep, intelligent, and nuanced answers—questions about God, purpose, suffering, Jesus, the Bible, religion, and other topics. And we want to help you see God's story with clear eyes and a plain understanding of how you fit into it. What you choose to do with that information is entirely up to you. As it should be. If our work here can start a good conversation and give you something valuable to think about in your own life, then we've done what we've set out to do.

Our Thanks:  We appreciate your taking the time to stop by and read this page. Feel free to use the site in any way that works for you. We have films, articles, and streams for you to explore and use as conversation pieces in your own life, and we also offer pre-organized content to facilitate group discussions.

Please join us on Facebook,  TwitterGoogle+PinterestYouTubeVimeo, and Instagram, and follow #ExploreGod to participate in the conversation as we explore God together. As always, we'd love to hear from you.
