Message: “The Gospel Physics of “Incarnational/“Missional” Churches vs. “Attractional Churches!”

Community Time

Opening Prayer and Praise
Scripture Lesson: 2nd Corinthians 5:16-6:1

Comment on this question: Does “Our Father who art in heaven” have a mission on this earth/in our world (note vss. 18-19)? Is what Paul is saying different from what John says in 3:16-17?

Read  Matthew 5:46, 7:21 & 24-26 & James 1:22-25. How would you describe us (or your? Do we prefer a “Bible Study” or a “Bible Do?”

Let’s discuss “missio dei” and “imago dei” in light of 2nd Peter 3:9 & 2nd Corinthians 5:14-17. Is it important for us to have God’s mission as the church mission? Should a church have Christ’s mission as in Luke 19:10 (the Zacchaeus story) and Matthew 28:19-20 (the Great Commission)?

Tommy’s  Physics Question: I am standing on the face of the earth right now? What force is keeping me from falling off into outer space & its darkness? I am also spinning round & round. Which direction is that force tending to take me? Which force is greater?

Tommy’s Gospel Physics Application of “Centrifugal” and “Centripetal” Forces & why “The Attractional Church” has to become “missional,” “incarnational” with greater centrifugal force than centripetal force.

Contrast the forces Hebrews 10:24-25 & Revelation 3:20 illustrate?

The Question of and Celebration of Communion and “Gospel Physics!”

The Nicene Creed says: “We believe in one holy, catholic, and apostolic church.” Do “attractional churches” tend to be oriented to “discipleship” & learning (centripetal) or “apostolic”  & oriented to missiology (centrifugal)?

Closing Prayer and Praise: “Passing the Peace”
